12. A whole world on our hands
Peter Elliott & Jonathan Butler

This image gives a representation of just how easy it is for bacteria to live our hands. Using a UV gel moisturiser and a black light the UV paint glows. We can see that the cracks of the hands are especially prone to housing bacteria. The research focuses on bacteria that cause severe food poisoning. It is essential to remove these germs from our hands as they can spread onto any surface or person we come into contact with. It does not take many of these germs to make us ill. This is why it is important to make people aware of how vital and sometimes life saving, proper hand washing can be.
