Meet the Researchers
Dr. Hossein Zare-Behtash
Research Area: Experimental Aerodynamics
What is like being a researcher?
If like me you love tackling the problems of the real world using your skills and expertise and employing all sorts of methods and equipment to try and find out why and how some things happen, then, research is for you.
What inspired you to become a researcher?
The opportunity to learn new things every day and work with people who share the same passion and enthusiasm when it comes to dealing with the unknown, and of course the challenge of making things work!
What is the best thing about being a researcher/your job?
You never have two days which are the same, even remotely similar!
If you could go back in time which scientist/researcher/historical figure would you like to meet and what would you ask them?
I’d like to meet Boris Johnson in person!
What do you do in your free time?
Read science magazines. I am looking for my eureka moment!
What is the first ‘science’ you remember doing?
Making paper airplanes but tearing the wings up or down at the edges to make the plane roll.
What’s the funniest/strangest/most surprising experience you have had in your career?
Strange funny things happen pretty much every day and I just can’t get my mind to focus on one.
What discovery or invention could you not live without?
Email on my phone!
What do you think is the most important thing yet to be discovered/invented?
3D TV without the glasses!
